We are Teton.ai, and we embarked on our journey in 2020 with a clear mission: to support the nurses and caregivers who form the backbone of our healthcare system. Recognizing the immense pressure they face due to a global staffing shortage and ever-increasing workloads, we decided to harness the power of artificial intelligence and computer vision. Our goal is to create an AI companion for nurses, a system that helps monitor patients effectively and optimize critical workflows. [2, 3] We believe that by automating routine tasks and providing real-time, actionable insights, our technology can significantly transform the healthcare landscape. This allows dedicated healthcare professionals to redirect their invaluable time and energy towards what truly matters – delivering high-quality, compassionate care to every single patient.

Our approach involves installing smart cameras and sensors in hospital rooms and care facilities. These devices utilize advanced computer vision to scan for patient activity and updates, feeding this information into a web application that alerts nurses when their attention is required. [3, 9, 12] This isn't about replacing the human touch; it's about augmenting it, providing an extra set of eyes and ears so nurses can focus on delivering the best possible care. We've trained our AI using extensive hospital datasets and invaluable feedback from nurses themselves to ensure it provides the right support in high-pressure clinical environments. Privacy is paramount in our design; all analysis occurs within a closed system, and no personal data is uploaded to central servers, ensuring patient confidentiality. [2, 13] Early trials in Denmark have been promising, indicating a potential reduction in night shift workload by as much as 25%, giving nurses more control and more time for their patients.
