We are seeking an exceptional software engineering leader to nurture and grow our software engineering organization. You will lead a software development team to deliver quality software solutions. Your team’s efforts serve as the backbone of our clinical operation, care provider network, and patient experience. You will collaborate closely with product management, UX design, data engineering, clinical operations, and solution architects to deliver the product roadmap on time, with high quality, and within budget. You will ensure the effectiveness of the entire software development lifecycle including the design, implementation, deployment, testing, documentation, and maintenance. You will monitor production software issues and guide the team to respond rapidly toward closure. You will collaborate with the solution architect to create, maintain, and execute an innovative technology roadmap. You will aid leadership in making build-or-buy decisions, define vendor expectations, and manage vendor progress toward delivery. You will create and monitor team efficiency metrics, establish processes for continuous improvement, and demonstrate progress. You will coach the team on technical problem-solving, code hygiene, documentation, and agile development process. You will budget, hire, grow, mentor, and performance-manage engineers to build a high-performing team. This role has high growth potential for personal development and for building a strong organization.

Key Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience in professional development environments.
  • 5+ years of managing engineering teams with a proven track record of hiring, retaining, and growing strong engineering talent.
  • 2+ years of managing managers and vendors, creating and managing budgets, creating and delivering OKRs, establishing metrics, and demonstrating improvement.
  • Demonstrated strong ownership coupled with an ability to collaborate openly and transparently.
  • Knowledge of best software engineering practices including agile, coding standards, code reviews, change control, deployment, and production issue management.
  • Experience establishing processes, leading change, and improving morale.
  • Experience in converting business requirements into technical designs and guiding teams in software architecture, design and reviews, and quality assurance.
  • Experience defining, coding, maintaining, and deploying custom applications using open-source and commercial tools.
  • Experience with microservices, APIs, deployment pipelines, databases (like RDS, MongoDB, DynamoDB, MySQL), serverless architecture, and AWS (serverside, authentication, CI/CD, lambda, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school with a concentration in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in the Salesforce ecosystem, Lightning, Apex, SOSQL, Slackbolt SDK, SASQL, SOSQL, etc. is a big plus.
  • Experience in healthcare and/or startups is a big plus.
