Head of Strategic Programmes

Fully Remote

Salary up to £60k

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Strategic Programmes join the Commercial Strategy Team, reporting into the Director of Commercial Strategy.

This is a great time to join us, with some exciting growth programmes coming up!

You’ll have total responsibility for the design, implementation, embedding and continuous improvement for a defined suite of growth programmes within Sysco GB. Through these growth programmes you will focus on executing activity to market share, sales, margin and volume growth whilst leading SME’s both within the team and within the Sysco GB business as a whole to deliver these programmes on time and in full.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct detailed market and customer analytics to establish the opportunity for growth and to set the commercial targets
  • Creating business cases for any investment sign off and Sysco GB alignment
  • Identifying and engaging a set of stakeholders and managers to execute the initiative
  • Design of all aspects of the initiative
  • Creation and management of a detailed activity plan to take us from design through to execution
  • Creation of governance and cadence to review actions and progress with all identified stakeholders and SME’s – including exec and total Sysco GB updates
  • Design and executing the reporting and tracking of performance against the targets and the relevant cadence and governance to review performance
  • Identification of opportunities to improve or recover performance broadening the activity plan, design and SME group as needed
  • Responsibility for leading, designing and delivering all Operational efficiency programmes for Commercial
  • Act as a deputy for the Director of Commercial Strategy and stand in place of this role during holidays, absence and conflicting diary moments, taking responsibility for the commercial strategy team

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience and success in the leadership and execution of growth programmes within a commercial environment
  • Ability to define clear objectives and an approach to gather insight and analytics to inform decision making
  • Strong analytical skills to identify the insight from both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Commercial acumen in building business cases, target setting and results modelling
  • Ability to define commercial solutions for execution using own experience and skills and input from SMEs across the business
  • Exceptional planning skills including the creation and delivery of activity planning tools through Excel or Smartsheet’s
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills to manage issues, risks and opportunities
  • Relentless focus on Continuous improvement
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with a particular strength in the use of PowerPoint
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proven ability to create and deliver productive relationships across a broad range of business areas
  • Ability to influence to deliver positive outcomes
  • Ability to positively challenge others to achieve the required result
  • Proven line management and leadership skills
  • Experience in a commercial environment with a focus on growing market share and sales working with commercial teams, and non-commercial teams, to deliver tangible growth results
  • Ideally experience within a food service provider, FMCG brand environment, retailer or food service end user sector (i.e. Hospitality, care or education sector)
