Job Description
As part of our activities in Lörrach Germany, Syngenta is looking for a:
Europe Customs Expert Procedures (f/m/d) GER - full remote
Role purpose:
The Europe Customs Expert Procedures will act as a specialist for all relevant customs procedures applied in the region to support customs compliance and to optimize duty costs. You will report to the Europe Customs Strategy Manager.
Responsibilities/main tasks:
- Operate all relevant customs procedures applied by Syngenta Crop Protection AG in Europe (e.g. IPR – Inward Processing, PIC – Prior informed consent)
- Support IPR inventory management and control together with customs brokers and customs operations managers in the region
- Coordinate the application of relevant export licenses for PIC in collaboration with all business stakeholders (trade compliance, planning, logistics and order management)
- Act as a key user for SAP GTS, develop system functionalities to better support daily operations (e.g. IPR inventory management, preferential origin calculation)
Qualifications
Knowledge and experience expected:
- Bachelor`s degree in Customs, Foreign Trade or comparable education
- 3+ years experience in a multinational environment in a multicultural team and/or context in the area of customs & foreign trade management
- Good command and previous experience of customs & foreign trade systems (e.g. SAP GTS)
- Ability to manage and work under pressure, reacting appropriately in a constantly changing environment whilst working closely with business stakeholders
- Fluent in German and English, both orally and in writing, any additional language is a plus
- Experience in the chemicals industry (with relevant regulations e.g. Prior Informed Consent, ADR dangerous goods transportation) would be a plus
- Ability and basic experience to communicate with authorities
