Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance Oversight:
- Supervise and lead the tax compliance process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax returns for various entities, including corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts.
- Review and analyze complex tax issues, providing guidance to the team.
- Remote Team Management:
- Effectively manage and support a remote team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and mentorship to ensure team development.
- Client Relations:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing guidance on tax matters, and ensuring exceptional client service.
- Collaborate with clients on tax planning and strategy.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and oversee quality control procedures to maintain the accuracy and integrity of tax deliverables.
- Conduct reviews of workpapers, tax returns, and other documentation.
- Remote Collaboration:
- Leverage technology and communication tools to facilitate seamless collaboration with team members and clients in a remote work environment.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination within the tax department and with other departments as needed.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in the professional development of the tax team by organizing training sessions, sharing industry updates, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
- Proven experience in remote team management and collaboration.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
