About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development of a technical certification to upskill engineers on Vonage APIs. There are five different API products that will be included in the certification. They include Voice, Video, Messaging, Network, and AI Studio.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and integrating Vonage API solutions and can help ensure training content is accurate, practical, and relevant to real-world applications.

Contract Type: Freelance 1099 Contract

Project Hours: Up to 118 Hours

Start Date: ASAP

Project Duration: July 30, 2026

SweetRush is a remote organization, and as such, all resources must be technically savvy, have access to a strong internet signal, be comfortable with virtual/instant messaging and conferencing tools, and generally be available during established working hours.

Your Impact and Responsibilities

Essential functions include:

• Review and validate course content for technical accuracy
• Provide context and real-world examples where needed
• Participate in working sessions and respond to questions throughout the project
• Record screencasts demonstrating key API workflows and processes
• Access and review content via Google Docs

What You Bring - Required Skills

Technical Knowledge

• Deep understanding of Vonage APIs, including Messaging, Video, Voice, Network, and AI Studio
• Experience with REST APIs and authentication methods (OAuth, JWT)
• Familiarity with Vonage SDKs and developer tools (Node.js, Python, Java, etc.)
• Understanding of webhooks, event-driven architecture, and real-time communications
• Knowledge of CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) concepts
• Screencast recording

Hands-On Experience

• Has built or integrated Vonage API solutions in real-world environments
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging API calls
• Familiarity with the Vonage developer portal and documentation

Certifications

• Vonage API certification is a strong plus, though not required given its niche nature
• General API certifications (e.g., Postman, MuleSoft, AWS, or Google) demonstrating broad API knowledge are also valued
• Ideally, the candidate brings both strong foundational API knowledge and demonstrated Vonage-specific experience

Nice to Have

• Background in technical training or documentation
• Familiarity with eLearning development
