Job Summary:

You will work with the Business Development team to plan, develop, and submit technical writing and/or pricing responses to federal RFx—Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quote (RFQs). Key skills and responsibilities include writing, editing, and ensuring compliant bid submissions using the Shipley Process. Your role will primarily be focused on bidding and winning federal contracts; this is not a sales position.

Key Deliverables and Responsibility:

  • Review solicitation requirements and prepare templates in accordance with specifications.
  • Write and edit proposal sections as assigned, formatting responses in line with solicitation requirements and company style guide.
  • Create additional proposal materials required for submission, including graphics specific to proposal writing sections.
  • Assist the proposal team with submittal and post-submittal activities, such as discussions, clarifications, and evaluation notices.
  • Manage the RFI and Sources Sought process to include coordinating with Subject Matter Experts on solution design, preparing and submitting the written and/or pricing responses, and managing post-submittal activities.
  • Manage the RFQ and other transactional bid/one-off proposal process to include coordinating with suppliers, preparing and submitting the written and/or pricing responses, and managing post-submittal activities.

Requirements

  • Higher education in English or related field (preferred) OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. May include military personnel who have been formerly trained or have relevant experience obtained while in the service in lieu of civilian experience.
  • Applicable proposal writing experience OR equivalent professional or technical writing experience. Familiarity with government solicitations and proposal requirements (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in grammar and mechanics. Must be able to engage in and exchange communication with others in all situations.
  • Highly meticulous to detail including reviewing and editing one’s own work to ensure document consistency and accuracy.
  • Self-driven and proactive in nature. Takes initiative to resolve challenges.
  • Proficient with Adobe products like Acrobat, In Design, and Illustrator (preferred)
  • Training in Shipley and/or APMP proposal management process (preferred)
  • Organized to execute multiple projects at once, adhering to deadlines.
  • Forward thinking individual who uses critical thinking to develop and implement innovative proposal strategies.
  • Proficiency working with MS Office (SharePoint/Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
