Project Scope:
Seeking an experienced Business Analyst tosupport implementation and ongoing operations of a vendor-hosted ElectronicHealth Record (EHR) system across multiple healthcare locations. The roleinvolves working closely with clinical, technical, and IT teams to supportsystem configuration, reporting, workflow optimization, and integrationactivities.
The analyst will support both implementationand operational phases of the EHR platform, ensuring smooth coordinationbetween stakeholders, system users, and technical teams while maintainingcompliance with healthcare standards and security policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Business Analyst supportingenterprise-wide EHR implementation and operations activities.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and clinical requirements fromstakeholders and end users.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, workflows,and system configurations.
• Support design, build, testing, validation, and deployment of EHR modules andenhancements.
• Work on system optimization including workflows, configuration changes, andreporting improvements.
• Develop and maintain documentation including business requirements, processflows, and system design documents.
• Collaborate with clinical analysts, IT teams, and business users to definecurrent and future state workflows.
• Support development and modification of custom reports and data extractsusing reporting tools and query languages.
• Assist in interface analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of integrationissues between systems.
• Participate in testing activities including system testing, integration testing,and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Validate system functionality against business requirements and ensuresuccessful implementation outcomes.
• Support user onboarding, training sessions, and end-user support activities.
• Assist in identifying and resolving system issues, defects, and workflowgaps.
• Work with technical teams to monitor data quality, system performance, andinterface stability.
• Maintain system documentation, training materials, and knowledge basearticles.
• Participate in change control processes, ensuring all modifications followgovernance standards.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and manage projectdeliverables.
• Support ongoing system enhancements, upgrades, and production supportactivities.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare IT standards, security policies, andregulatory requirements.
• Provide regular status updates, reports, and documentation to projectleadership.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency anduser experience.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analystin healthcare IT or enterprise application environments
• 5+ years of experience supporting system analysis, implementation, orapplication support
• 5+ years of experience working with healthcare systems, workflows, orclinical applications
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and system integration activities
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholdermanagement
• Experience supporting system testing, validation, and UAT processes
• Knowledge of HL7 or healthcare data exchange standards
• Experience working with interface troubleshooting and system integrationsupport
• Strong understanding of SDLC and change management processes
• Experience creating business process documentation and workflow diagrams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical andnon-technical teams
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cerner or other EHR platforms
• Experience with clinical workflows and healthcare operations
• Knowledge of report development or query tools (e.g., SQL, CCL, or similar)
• Experience working in public sector or large healthcare organizations
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, security frameworks)
• Experience with SharePoint, MS Office, Visio, or documentation tools
• Experience supporting application training and end-user support
Education:
Bachelor’sdegree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare, or related field
