Key Responsibilities:
- Full ownership of features: Take complete responsibility for the functionality you develop, from concept and architecture to production deployment.
- Architectural decision-making: Collaborate closely with the architect to implement ambitious technical visions while making independent architectural decisions within your domain.
- Complex problem-solving: Work autonomously on complex, distributed systems and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Backend development (Ruby on Rails 8): Build and optimize backend services using advanced Rails features, including performance tuning, background jobs (Sidekiq), and custom gem development. Design and implement robust REST and GraphQL APIs, including versioning, rate limiting, and secure authentication/authorization patterns. Implement microservices and event-driven architectures with inter-service communication patterns.
- Database design and optimization: Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases for high concurrency, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and partitioning. Implement caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) and ensure efficient data modeling and migrations.
- Frontend development: Build complex, performant user interfaces using modern JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), with deep experience in React, Vue, or Angular and the ability to adapt to any framework. Optimize performance with tools like Webpack, Vite, or esbuild and implement complex UX micro-interactions. Work with Hotwire and Tailwind CSS for rapid, scalable UI development.
- DevOps and infrastructure: Design and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines, automate testing, and deploy full-stack applications. Containerize and optimize deployments using Docker and Kubernetes. Ensure observability through monitoring, logging, and performance troubleshooting with tools like Grafana. Work with self-managed infrastructure on Linux and integrate cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure) when needed.
- AI and agent integrations: Integrate large language models (LLMs) and agent frameworks such as LangChain or CrewAI. Implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors, context management, and vector database integrations for semantic search, RAG patterns, and real-time agent interactions. Build conversational interfaces and agents using WebSockets, server-sent events, and streaming APIs.
- Product-focused engineering: Implement complex business logic and optimize both backend and frontend for key metrics like conversion and retention. Support A/B testing, feature flags, and analytics for product decision-making.
- Security and encryption: Apply OWASP best practices, implement OAuth/JWT authentication flows, and ensure encryption at rest and in transit.
- Quality and testing: Follow TDD practices with 90%+ automated test coverage, perform integration and end-to-end testing, and lead code reviews and refactoring. Document technical decisions, APIs, and architectures.
Requisitos
- 8–12 years of experience as a full stack developer in complex, distributed systems.
- Advanced Ruby on Rails (v8) expertise, including performance tuning, Sidekiq, and custom gem development.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL with query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
- Advanced JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+) skills with deep experience in frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Proficiency in REST and GraphQL API design and implementation.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and inter-service communication.
- Strong understanding of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) and database design for high load systems.
- Solid DevOps skills, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, and observability.
- Hands-on experience with TDD (Test-Driven Development) and achieving high levels of automated testing.
- Proven product-oriented mindset with experience implementing feature flags, analytics, and A/B testing.
- Familiarity with LLM integrations, vector databases, RAG patterns, and agent frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI).
- Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) for connectors and agent context management.
- Strong background in security best practices, including encryption at rest and in motion.
- Ability to work with Linux-based environments and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, Teams integrations and WebSocket-based communications.
- Fluent English (B2 or higher) and Spanish, with excellent communication skills.
Preferred/Bonus Skills:
- Experience with Python (AI/ML), Node.js, and interest in emerging languages like Mojo, Crystal, or Hexcute.
- Deep understanding of DDD (Domain-Driven Design) and advanced design patterns (SOLID).
- Familiarity with Windsurf and Codex environments.
- Strong curiosity and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Prior experience in startups or scale-ups, balancing speed and quality while scaling technical platforms.
