Intermediate Accountant

Compensation: $63,627 - $79,534 per annum (commensurate with education and experience)

Servus is growing! We are currently looking for an Intermediate Accountant ( Tax Focused) in our Accounting Department.

The Intermediate Accountant assists in interpreting business transactions with a tax (Canadian Income Tax and indirect taxes) insight to create information for business decision makers to assess performance and results. This position will be focused on Canadian corporate income tax accruals, provisions, reporting and compliance in addition to interpreting transactions and activities to apply IFRS guidelines and record information appropriately.

The position requires someone with initiative, organization, time management, technical knowledge and must be able to work without day-to-day direction. The Intermediate Accountant also must be able to evaluate current processes, and suggest any improvements that would increase efficiency, documentation or understanding.

Requirements

Experience:

• 4 - 8 years of progressive accounting experience depending on the level of education completed.
• Experience with IFRS for area of focus including financial reporting.
• Understanding of Canadian Income Tax, Indirect Taxes and Fixed Assets.
• Strong experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook

Education and Training:

• Completed Degree in Accounting or within 1 year of CPA Designation
• Relevant education and/or experience will be taken into consideration in lieu.

Any other special requirements necessary to do the job:

Occasional overtime will be required, particularly during the quarter and fiscal year end.

The business may from time to time ask for branch and/or department support for special projects and/or areas experiencing staff shortages. All employees may be asked to volunteer to assist in areas of need during these times.
