A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN III
As our Installation Technician III, you will be supporting computer operation, installation, maintenance and repair as well as installation of computer images and software, set up and troubleshooting of all Windows 7 Operating System Configurations, repair of security systems, network infrastructures and associated equipment to protect citizens, borders, seaports, airports, facilities and critical assets. If our employees are the engine that enables our company to provide first-class service to our customers, you are the fuel that powers that engine. You are responsible for accurately and efficiently processing requests for installation, maintenance and repair of security system and network infrastructures.
You will read and understand work orders, instructions, schedules, formulas, processing charts, schematics, wire diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings. Any given day, you may assemble, disassemble, and install video and data communication lines and hardware, computer systems, and security and surveillance systems using hand and power tools.
Though you spend much of your time working with a team, independently your interpersonal skills come in handy as you will clean and maintain tools, test equipment, and motor vehicle. Complete logbooks, daily timesheets, expense vouchers, and verbal and written status reports. Attend and complete developmental and refresher training to improve or maintain technical skills. Conducts personal safety check and adheres to established safety standards, guidelines, and directives. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to include eye protection, hard hat, gloves, reflective vest, steel toed boots and special PPE as directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN III
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 Years relevant computer or installation experience Completion of a technical school program or Security Technology Institute certification in security and surveillance systems or experience as an electrician's helper or equivalent job with institutional knowledge of basic electric theory or minimum of thirty-six months construction experience.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain required government issued security clearances. In order to meet this requirement, you must be a US Citizen.
- Fundamental understanding of basic hand and power tool use.
- Documented or demonstrated experience using electronic test and troubleshooting tools such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and network analyzers.
- Valid driver's license; able to meet company safe driving requirements.
- Must be able to secure a US Passport and/or Passport card as required
- Ability to travel (approximately 75% of the time) to remote US locations.
