Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and driven Pre-Sales Technical Engineer to join their growing Services Division. This role focuses on work closely with the sales team to strategize on new business opportunities, ensuring a deep understanding of prospective client needs and industry-specific challenges. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working within a MSP, VAR or Distributor, enabling the Sales to better close Services, in a traditional reseller model.

Location: This role may be location in Montreal, Quebec, with travel to West Island office and client sites as required OR may be located in Toronto, working remotely, with the expectation of travel to client sites when required (6-10 times per year).
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Sales Engagement:Work closely with the sales team to strategize on new business opportunities, ensuring a deep understanding of prospective client needs and industry-specific challenges.
  2. Client Consultation:Directly engage with clients to assess their business requirements and technological pain points, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
  3. Solution Design and Customization:Architect and customize solutions that uniquely address the needs of each client, emphasizing scalability and future growth.
  4. Dynamic Presentation and Demonstration:Skillfully prepare and present dynamic presentations and demonstrations that clearly articulate the value and competitive edge of our solutions.
  5. Technical Sales Support:Provide comprehensive technical guidance during the sales cycle, responding to inquiries, resolving complex issues, and facilitating product evaluations.
  6. Relationship Management:Establish and nurture lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams, to foster long-term business growth.
  7. Market Intelligence:Continuously gather intelligence on industry trends, the competitive landscape, and technology innovations to enhance solution positioning and sales tactics.
  8. Sales Target Achievement:Actively assist the sales team in meeting or exceeding revenue targets and strategic business objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Professional Experience:At least 3-5 years of experience in pre-sales, technical sales, or a similar role within the IT sector, ideally within an MSP or similar environment.
  3. Technical Proficiency:Comprehensive knowledge of modern IT solutions, including cloud services, cybersecurity, enterprise software, and infrastructure technologies.
  4. Communication Mastery:Exceptional presentation and communication skills, adept at discussing complex technical details with both technical and executive audiences.
  5. Relationship Building:Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain productive relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Adaptability and Drive:Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with a results-oriented mindset.
  7. Analytical Acumen:Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  8. CompTIA Certifications (Network+, Security+, Cloud+): These are foundational and vendor-neutral. They prove a baseline competence in essential IT domains (networking, security, cloud computing) that apply to any hardware or software solution, making them highly relevant for a multi-vendor
  9. Certified Sales Engineer (CSE): Nice to have
