As an Associate Product Manager on the US College Product Management team within Digital Learning Solutions, you will contribute to initiatives that support Sage’s strategy to accelerate, experiment, and deliver new digital solutions for the US College market. You bring curiosity, attention to detail, and a data-informed approach to problem solving. You listen closely to customers, coordinate efforts among various departments, and help build new features from early exploration through launch and ongoing iteration.

Your New Role:

Key responsibilities:

Support product development

  • Support business decisions that guide new product development by capturing data, conducting research, and coordinating with cross-functional partners.
  • Assist in leading project timelines and deliverables to help keep initiatives on track.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and QA Analysts on roadmap planning and backlog prioritization.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing for new functionality and help validate completed work from the development team.

Assist in evaluating new product ideas

  • Support the early assessment of new product features by participating in market research, collecting requirements, and developing business use cases.
  • Influence recommendations on product direction based on risk, customer value, and investment level.

Engage with market research

  • Maintain close communication with Marketing, Sales, Acquisitions, and Content Development teams to stay aligned with customer needs and market trends.
  • Interact with customers and the broader market through activities like usability testing, and competitive research.
  • Assist with capturing details of competitor activity and emerging trends to offer suggestions on product improvements and strategic decisions.

Support technical requirements

  • Assist in defining technical requirements for product development, including defining acceptance criteria, and participating in user testing with internal teams and external partners.
  • Help translate customer and business needs into clear, actionable user stories.
  • Work with software engineers, quality assurance analysts, and user experience research, and others to support feature development.

Collaborate on content development

  • Work with editorial teams to define and refine content requirements for our digital products.
  • Support efforts to streamline workflows, standardize content, and promote digital-first processes.

Guide project management

  • Help coordinate and participate in project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and follow up on action items.
  • Assist in maintaining project plans and documentation, including requirements, user stories, and prototypes.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to ensure clarity, alignment, and accountability.

Participate in implementation

  • Assist in refining workflows and processes for implementing digital products, including internal training, customer onboarding, and LMS integration.
  • Help document and standardize procedures to support ongoing improvements based on user feedback and data insights.

Support reporting and communication

  • Participate in delivering product updates, presentations, and reports for internal teams and partners.
  • Help compile usage data, competitive insights, and feature improvements to support decision-making and visibility.

Skills and Experience:

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to:

  • Scrum Master and/or Scrum Product Owner Certification

· Project Management experience

  • Microsoft Office Knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (required)

· Experience with JIRA and Confluence

· Problem solving skills

· Time management skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to:
  • Experience working within a product management / product owner role (preferably using Scrum or other Agile framework)
  • Experience developing online products, including eBooks and courseware
  • Familiarity with college products and business models
  • Experience supporting projects within a publishing or educational organizations

Compensation at Sage is influenced by several factors, including but not limited to skill set, nature and level of experience, qualifications, and other relevant considerations.
