Role Overview:

As an Experienced logistics professional with project management and technical expertise to lead Collins Transportation Management System (TMS) outbound implementation and sustainment efforts in collaboration with Collins production sites. This is a central corporate role that will work with a 3rd Party Logistics TMS Partner, IT, Supply Chain, Operations, Global Trade and Customer Service, to design, develop, test, and deploy the TMS solution in Collins sites across Europe. This leader will make significant process, systems, and customer service improvements in support of Collins production and cost-saving goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Train internal operations personnel and mentor other team members on the TMS platform. Provide post-launch support. Complete and maintain TMS implementation documentation as required for Standard Work, process alignment, and training.
  • Collaborate with business unit and site logistics leadership, Global Trade, TMS partner and other internal and external stakeholders to refine TMS outbound shipping processes, including dock physical material flow, workflow and process documentation to enable maximum savings, enable Collins-wide process standardization, and ensure compliance with global trade, ITAR and Commerce license shipping requirements.
  • Drive TMS outbound savings. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to exceed TMS project savings targets. In collaboration with TMS Partner and Collins site teams, perform root cause analysis to identify gaps and opportunities. Work with site logistics leadership, site shipping personnel, order creators, material managers, IT personnel, transportation carriers and TMS Partner to drive TMS and shipping process improvement, standardization and compliance.
  • Prepare briefings, presentations, and training documentation to present status of project regularly to TMS team, cross-functional leaders, corporate, business unit, and site logistics leaders.
  • Extensive international travel required. While most work is in normal daytime hours, Collins’ global footprint and supplier base can require meetings or calls outside normal business hours.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and present complex data in support of decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skilled presenter, comfortable with in-person and remote presentations to both shop-floor workers and executive-level leaders.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Thorough grounding in international and domestic shipping and freight operations, including parcel, air, ocean, truck load and less-than-truck load modes. Knowledge of international trade and customs requirements and best practices. Knowledge of ITAR, C-TPAT and export control regulations. Familiarity with hazardous materials shipping requirements and standards.
  • Reside in Europe and able to work and travel extensively (25-50%) within the region and occasionally to North America or globally.
  • Fluency in English required. Fluency in French, German, or Polish highly desired.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency with MS Visio a plus.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in implementing TMS in a global manufacturing or aftermarket distribution environment.
  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environment. Ideally, has experience shipping high-value products ranging from small electronics to very large structural assemblies via all transportation modes.
  • Grounding in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and hands-on experience in process improvement projects.
