Full Stack Tech Lead

The Role

A Full Stack Tech Lead is being hired to drive a critical 90-day engineering transformation. This individual will architect, deliver, and scale the unified Clients tab in the core product—a central surface that integrates planning, portfolio data, files, and communication into one seamless experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will design large-scale systems, build production-grade services, lead full-stack execution, and establish engineering standards for quality, reliability, and velocity.

What You’ll Do

Backend Architecture & Development

• Architect and build FastAPI microservices using Python + Pydantic in a modern AWS serverless environment.
• Own the design, development, and operational health of core API services and data flows.
• Drive service decomposition, domain modeling, and scalable integration patterns.

Full-Stack Product Delivery

• Lead the end-to-end buildout of the Clients tab—backend, frontend, data, and integrations.
• Ship high-quality, user-facing functionality in React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with design and product to turn complex financial workflows into intuitive UI/UX.

Leadership & Engineering Excellence

• Lead a small, fast-moving engineering team (2–5 engineers).
• Set technical direction, review code, and model high-quality engineering practices.
• Promote clarity, communication, and alignment across product and engineering.

• Backend: Python, FastAPI, Pydantic v2, Golang (future)
• Frontend: React, TypeScript, React Native (Expo)
• Infrastructure: AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CDK
• Integrations: Apex Ascend API, Plaid, Stripe

- AI/ML: GPT-4, Claude, LangGraph

• Future: Golang microservices for performance-critical workloads

Requirements

• 10+ years full-stack development experience, with deep professional experience in production-grade backend systems.
• Strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, and AWS microservices.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating APIs in high-reliability environments.
• Strong proficiency with React + TypeScript and modern frontend engineering.
• Experience leading small engineering teams and owning large product surfaces end-to-end.
• Startup experience; comfortable with rapid execution, autonomy, and ambiguity.
• Fintech or wealth management experience strongly preferred (RIAs, custodians, portfolio systems, or related).
• Ability to communicate clearly and keep cross-functional partners aligned.
