ABOUT THE JOB

The Team Lead - Field Deployments plays a key role in overseeing and managing the successful deployment of RADAR technology in retail stores within their designated geographic region. This individual is responsible for leading a team of Deployment Associates, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality installation standards, and fostering effective communication across internal teams and external partners. The Team Lead serves as the primary point of contact for multi-site deployments, ensuring projects are completed on schedule while adhering to Radar’s quality and compliance standards. They are also responsible for tracking regional deployment performance and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness within their assigned territory. This role also focuses on improving coordination across multiple locations, vendor training, and ensuring on-time installation completion by enhancing processes and collaboration efforts. The Team Lead will work closely with third-party vendors and integrators to standardize best practices and drive continuous improvement in deployment operations.

Responsibilities:

Deployment Operations - Regional Deployment Oversight:

  • Multi-Site Project Coordination: Oversee and manage deployments across multiple retail locations within the assigned region, ensuring smooth execution in collaboration with the Deployment Operations team and cross-functional teams.
  • Vendor Partner Management: Train and coordinate with external vendors and integrators, ensuring they follow Radar’s deployment standards.
  • Task Allocation: Assign responsibilities to Deployment Associates, ensuring team members are aligned with regional project objectives.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for streamlining deployment procedures and improving efficiency within the region.
  • Escalation Management: Address on-site challenges and escalate issues to the Sr. Lead Deployment Operations when necessary.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on regional deployment metrics, ensuring continuous improvement, adherence to schedules, quality standard and customer satisfaction.

Quality Assurance:

  • Installation Oversight: Conduct quality checks to verify that installations meet Radar’s standards and compliance requirements across all locations.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to Deployment Associates and vendor partners.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze deployment outcomes and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency and installation quality.

Team Leadership Development:

  • Mentorship: Provide coaching and training to Deployment Associates to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Performance Monitoring: Evaluate team members’ performance, provide feedback, and report progress to the Sr. Lead of Deployment Operations.
  • Onboarding Training: Lead the onboarding and training of new team members, integrator partners, and vendors to ensure alignment with Radar’s deployment protocols.
  • Process Standardization: Through coordination and partnership with the Deployment Operations, develop best practices for deployments and ensure uniform execution across all sites.

Communication Reporting:

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, clients, and external partners within the assigned region.
  • Status Updates: Provide timely updates to the Sr. Lead on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate record-keeping of installation procedures, challenges, and best practices.
  • Regional Reporting: Regularly assess and report on deployment successes, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement specific to the geographic region.
  • Protocol Adherence: Ensure that all installations within the region are completed in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential safety risks and take preventive measures to mitigate them.
  • Incident Reporting: Promptly report any safety concerns or compliance issues to the Sr. Lead.

In your first 30days, you will:

  • Gain a deep understanding of Radar’s mission, history, and technology.
  • Meet key team members and understand team structures and workflows.
  • Shadow existing deployment projects to learn processes and best practices.
  • Conduct initial quality checks under the guidance of senior team members.

In your first 60 days, you will:

  • Take an active leadership role in deployment projects, overseeing multi-site operations within the region.
  • Manage a small team of Deployment Associates, providing direction and support.
  • Train vendors and third-party integrators on Radar’s deployment procedures.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the deployment process and propose improvements.
  • Begin independently troubleshooting deployment challenges and managing stakeholder communication.

In your first 90 days, you will:

  • Fully own deployment operations for assigned projects, ensuring smooth execution within the region.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance deployment efficiency and ensure on-time completion of installations.
  • Train and mentor new Deployment Associates and vendors to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
  • Conduct performance assessments of team members and provide feedback.
  • Develop regional strategies to optimize deployment success rates and resource allocation.

ABOUT YOU

Required:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in technology deployment, field operations, or a related field, preferably in retail environments.
  • You have strong leadership and team management skills.
  • You have 3+ years of management experience.
  • You have experience coordinating multi-site deployments and managing vendor relationships.
  • You have technical expertise in hardware installations and troubleshooting.
  • You have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • You have effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • You have the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have the willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • You have the ability to manage and oversee deployments within a geographic region, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

Preferred:

  • You have experience working with RFID technology.
  • You have previous experience leading deployment teams in a retail or technology environment.
  • You have familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.

At RADAR, your pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role is a non-exempt position at $85,000-$140,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training. You will also be eligible to receive other benefits including: equity, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, life and disability benefits, 401k plan, flexible time off, and paid parental leave. The pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
