Location Remote Work

Our technology team works on the "remote-first" model, which means we are working from home with the possibility of living anywhere in Brazil. We also have the option of using QuintoAndar's offices in São Paulo and Campinas or using partner coworking spaces, both up to twice a week.

About the Position:
The primary goal for this position is to understand the company's data-related needs and develop a high-performance, self-service CDP (Customer Data Platform) with robust pipelines. This includes ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, security, data quality, profiling, documentation, lineage, and more.

Responsibilities of a Data Engineering Manager at QuintoAndar:

  • Be a technical reference for your team;
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of data pipelines and platform solutions, ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability;
  • Be willing to be hands-on, when needed;
  • Discuss business and engineering requirements with analysts, engineers and stakeholders on a deep level and anticipate risks;
  • Build a great team both recruiting great talent and helping them grow;
  • Evaluating the performance of team members, providing regular feedback, and identifying opportunities for their development;
  • Setting clear goals and objectives for the team and ensuring they are aligned with the overall business objectives;
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders at various levels of the organization to understand their requirements or explain technical concepts;
  • Advocating for the value of data analytics and engineering within the organization and fostering a data-driven culture.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Recognizes that people are the most important asset and has extensive experience in people and careers management within the data career field.
  • A very technical manager that can discuss data event-driven architecture, in a modern stack paradigm;
  • Someone with background in both Data Platform and Data Pipelines;
  • Expert in dimensional data modeling (star schema or snowflake), with knowledge of technical concepts and best implementation practices;
  • Proficient in SQL and Python, passionate about writing clean, performant, and maintainable code;
  • Understands the data lifecycle and concepts such as architecture, lineage, governance, privacy, etc.;
  • Fluent in cloud infrastructure, such as AWS and GCP;
  • Experienced in designing and implementing event-driven architectures;
  • Keeps up with the evolution of technologies and best practices in the data engineering domain and seeks to apply them in the team's routine;
  • Someone with good communication skills, to collaborate with multiple stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Design, Data and Ops team)
  • Able to deal with uncertainty;
  • Able to define the strategic roadmap connecting with the business priorities and evolving the tech capabilities as setting the right expectations with the stakeholders;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory for this position.
