QUAMED

QUAMED is a not-for-profit membership association with a mission to improve access to quality medicines for all. Founded in 2010 and incorporated in Belgium as an ASBL (non-profit organization), QUAMED partners with diverse networks of stakeholders to strengthen pharmaceutical systems and reduce exposure to sub-standard and falsified medical products.

The organization operates as a virtual headquarters with all employees working remotely from their home countries and field locations. QUAMED offers services across five distinct areas: assessments including GSDP, MQAS, and GMP audits; a Quality Certification Program (QCP) for suppliers; a subscriber-only database with assessment reports; training programs through their QUAMED Learning platform; and technical assistance and support for regulatory authorities and associative members.

QUAMED develops and promotes quality assurance systems in accordance with WHO international standards for health professionals in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). The team advocates for quality medicines through various communication channels, including webinars, their online learning platform, and participation in Quality Assurance and Humanitarian fora. Professionals at QUAMED typically have international backgrounds with experience in or strong interest in humanitarian and development contexts.
