WHO YOU ARE

You are a knowledgeable and experienced software engineer with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience, focused on producing high-quality software solutions. You possess a solid understanding of relevant technologies and best practices within your discipline, and you are committed to delivering reliable and efficient software. In this hands-on role, your problem-solving skills and technical expertise will be crucial as you contribute directly to developing, debugging, and testing software.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

In this individual contributor role, you will leverage your technical expertise to solve customer problems and deliver significant value through our technology solutions. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and optimizing our technology stack, which includes Windows and Web applications, services, APIs, and databases. You will engage in writing and maintaining high-quality code and implementing performance optimizations while keeping customer needs and outcomes central to your work.

Your ability to understand and integrate customer feedback will guide the development process, enabling you to deliver software solutions that are not only robust but also aligned with business goals and product first principles. The work you do will directly impact our customers' experiences, making it essential for you to assess risks and make informed decisions throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your technical skills will be the means (the "how") through which you and the team achieve the objectives (the "why")—ensuring that the products you help build exceed customer expectations, enhance usability, and drive satisfaction

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and enhance software solutions that prioritize customer needs and business value.
  • Utilize your strong technical skills in C# and the .NET framework to write and maintain clean, efficient, and testable code, ensuring all new features align with high quality and usability standards.
  • Conduct thorough testing of software components, including writing automated tests, to guarantee the reliability and performance of delivered solutions.
  • Apply your analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex customer challenges, utilizing customer value delivery as a guiding principle in proposing innovative solutions.
  • Engage in code reviews and collaborative discussions to share knowledge, improve code quality, and advocate for best practices in software development.
  • Independently execute user stories and manage tasks, balancing technical execution with an understanding of product first principles and risk management throughout the development process.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for enhancements and optimizations in existing codebases, focusing on delivering value to our customers and mitigating any potential risks.
  • Build and foster relationships with internal teams and external partners, effectively adapting your communication style to spread awareness of customer needs and collaborative solutions.

YOUR BACKGROUND THAT LIKELY MAKES YOU A MATCH

We are seeking talented software engineers who are not only skilled technically but also deeply understand customer value delivery and product principles. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Comprehensive expertise in C# and the .NET framework, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience applying these technologies to deliver customer-facing solutions.
  • A solid foundation in software design patterns and best practices, with a proven track record of executing them effectively in alignment with customer needs.
  • Experimented and had success using AI-assisted tools and AI agents for writing, debugging, and testing code.
  • Experience in developing software for both cloud-based and on-premises environments, demonstrating versatility in tackling diverse technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in writing high-quality, testable code and a commitment to using testing and automation techniques to ensure reliable software solutions that minimize risk.
  • Strong analytical capabilities that allow you to assess a range of issues creatively and effectively, always with a focus on promoting customer value.
  • A collaborative mindset, enjoying working in team settings to contribute positively to project outcomes while fostering relationships across different teams.

We are a remote-first development organization that values flexibility in how our teams work. In addition to supporting fully remote roles, we have offices in Austin and San Francisco, with a hybrid option available for those who live near an office and prefer in-person collaboration.

This role has a base annual salary of $130,000-$150,000 plus a competitive equity and benefits package. (Salary to be determined by relevant experience, location, knowledge, and skills of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

  • Some work in Javascript / Typescript / Python / Docker / Redis
  • Azure Cloud Services, Azure DevOps for code and work tracking
  • Experience with Copilot, Cursor, Claude and other AI-assisted developer tools
