Qarik's journey began in 2019, founded by senior technology consultants Gavan Corr and Joe Schenk. Mr. Corr, a native of Northern Ireland with a background at Google Cloud Financial Services and various leadership roles in finance and equity strategy, teamed up with Mr. Schenk to establish a company focused on providing cloud-based data management and analysis software development services. From its inception, Qarik aimed to help businesses modernize their IT infrastructures, offering services like mapping progress, planning business moves, and providing technical consulting in areas such as machine learning and cloud scaling. The company quickly established itself as a multinational Google Cloud Premier Services Partner, specializing in building scalable, secure, cloud-native platforms to enable data, developers, and GenAI automation.

A significant part of Qarik's early strategy involved a 'co-build' approach, emphasizing working alongside client teams to coach, pair, and enable them while accelerating progress towards their specific goals. This philosophy extended to upskilling and uplifting client employees and partner ecosystems to operate effectively in cloud-native environments. This hands-on, transformative approach resonated with a forward-thinking client base, challenging Qarik to power their growth and efficiency by breaking new ground in technology-driven transformation. In September 2021, Qarik acquired Stark & Wayne, further bolstering its capabilities. A pivotal moment in Qarik's story came in October 2024, when Egen, a technology services company with strong capabilities in Google Cloud infrastructure, product and data engineering, and AI, announced its acquisition of Qarik. This strategic move was designed to strengthen Egen's position as a leading pure-play services partner focused on advanced data and AI applications within the Google Cloud ecosystem. Following the acquisition, Qarik began operating under the Egen brand, with Joe Schenk taking on the role of Chief Client Officer for the newly combined company. The combination of Egen's scaled global delivery capabilities and Qarik's advanced Google Cloud expertise aimed to create a rapidly growing firm with a differentiated suite of assets and deeply skilled personnel in data and AI, poised to help clients design and engineer solutions to dramatically increase growth and improve operational performance.
