Preisrunter

Preisrunter is Austria's leading grocery price comparison platform, helping consumers make smarter purchasing decisions by comparing prices across multiple supermarkets. The platform was founded to address a common frustration: while people routinely compare prices online for electronics or travel, grocery shopping remained opaque and difficult to navigate. Rising food prices, countless promotions, and varying product ranges across retailers made it challenging for Austrian consumers to find the best deals.

The platform aggregates prices from over 10 major supermarket chains including Billa, Hofer, Spar, Lidl, Bipa, DM, MPREIS, Müller, Penny, and Unimarkt, covering more than 150,000 products. Users can search for specific products, scan barcodes in stores, set price alerts, and track price history. Preisrunter also includes fuel price comparisons and promotional forecasts to help users time their purchases strategically.

Supported by the Arbeiterkammer Oberösterreich (Chamber of Labour), Preisrunter has gained recognition across Austrian media including ORF, Kronen Zeitung, Der Standard, Die Presse, and FM4. The company offers apps for both iOS and Android, built with Flutter technology, and provides an API for developers. With over 100,000 monthly users and a 4.8-star rating from hundreds of reviews, Preisrunter has established itself as a trusted tool for Austrian consumers seeking transparency in grocery pricing.
