As a Live Operations Associate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the success of our scholastic esports tournaments, from planning and scheduling to execution and post-event analysis. You'll work alongside a talented team to keep our competitions running like clockwork while exploring new ways to engage players and elevate the overall experience.
What You'll Do:
- Support All Phases of Competition: Assist with everything from pre-season planning to championship events across all competition groups.
- Match Management: Schedule and manage matches efficiently, ensuring timely completion. Provide comprehensive match-day support, including assistance with match and league rulings.
- Collaboration is Key: Work closely with various cross-functional teams (Publisher Partnerships, Sponsorships, Scholastics, Marketing, Support, Product, etc.) to plan competition formats and schedules and support tournaments.
- Rule the Game: Develop, enforce, and maintain rulebooks, game day protocols, and IT/networking documentation for all competition groups.
- Scholarship Support: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create opportunities for players to earn scholarships and prizes and ensure proper distribution.
- Broadcast Like a Pro: Assist with the strategy and execution for broadcasting championship events.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Conduct research to identify areas for improvement in competition and user experience.
- Partner with Product: Work with the product team to identify dependencies, report bugs, and test new features.
- Track and Analyze: Monitor and analyze engagement metrics like match completion, setup ratings, and competitor quality. Share user feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
- Content Creation: Lead monthly blog updates on competition news and updates, collaborating with the Marketing team.
What We're Looking For:
- 3-5 years of experience in a related field, such as esports operations, event management, or project coordination.
- Strong understanding of esports competition formats and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in project management tools and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Data-oriented with an ability to analyze metrics and identify trends.
- Passion for esports and a desire to contribute to a growing community.
- Ability to travel 15% of the time (NOTE: percentage of time spent traveling annually is subject to change depending on business needs.)
Bonus Points for:
- Experience working with league management platforms or similar software.
- Experience with Asana or a similar project management tool.
