POSITION SPECIFICS
The LionPATH Development and Maintenance Organization (LDMO), a unit of Penn State Information Technology, is looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and proactive individual to fulfill the role of Oracle Systems Analyst for the LDMO Admissions Team. An Oracle Systems Analystis responsible foroptimizing and supporting Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications and solutions (i.e., LionPATH) to enhance business operations; analyzes business processes; configures Oracle modules; troubleshoots and resolves system and user issues; provides support to ensure the system meets the university's needs, and more.
LOCATION:This position is fully remote (within the United States). Standard working hours are in the Eastern Time Zone.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Note: Penn State’s Student Information System (SIS), referred to as LionPATH, is Oracle’s PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
ERP System Management: Evaluate, analyze, and maintain ERP systems; act as a liaison between technical staff and University functional offices/user groups.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate effectively and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with multiple University functional offices and stakeholders.
Customer Support: Provide advanced customer service and functional support to endusers in Admissions-related areas; assist with implementing workarounds when system issues affect operations.
Business Needs Analysis: Determine options for addressing new business needs or requirements through existing system functions; develop clear requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications when modifications or interfaces are needed.
Project Management: Manage complex projects, review progress, and evaluate results.
Feedback and Prioritization: Collect user feedback regarding system performance and work with team to prioritize requests.Prioritize and deliver requests from multiple constituencies with often overlapping timelines and varying levels of complexity.
Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans and validation, as well as other quality assurance measures; conduct and coordinate testing such as system, user acceptance, performance, security, usability, etc.
Reporting and Analysis: Design, implement, and analyze reports to determine overall trends within the organization.
Vendor Relations: May maintain relationships with vendors; collaborate on bug fixes, new features, and proper use of products.
Training and Communication: Develop and provide training sessions, demonstrations, and regular communication to functional offices/end-users.
Documentation: Maintain system documentation and records of changes and incidents.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Higher Education experience in IT and/or a functional office related to Admissions
Familiarity with Oracle’s PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, especially the Admissions module, Transfer Credit functionality, and related functionality (including, but not limited to: Equation Engine, File Parser, and/or PS Query)
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, identify anomalies, and collaborate with technical and non-technical partners to develop integrative solutions
Strong technical writing and editing skills with experience in creating documentation for both technical and non-technical users
