As a highly skilled React Native Developer, you will play a pivotal role as a valued member of a newly formed team responsible for developing a brand new state-of-the-art Weather application. This application is a sibling application to Canada's most prominent and widely used high-scale platforms, TheWeatherNetwork.com and MeteoMedia.com. We seek an individual with extensive experience in React and React Native. We place a high value on developers who possess the ability to assume ownership of projects and deliver complete, end-to-end solutions.
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team in creating, optimizing, and operating a new Weather application written with React Native. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of a first-in-class next-generation Weather application. You’ll work with other team members to implement new features that interact with new services and libraries across our development ecosystem.

WHAT IS THE DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE
- Participate in designing, developing, and testing new features on a new React Native based Weather Application
- Continually optimize code for maximum performance
- Continuously deploy features to production on a regular basis
- Ensure the application release and rollout strategy follows our CI and CD methodologies
- Unit testing of the features that you implement
- Ensure that the services you implement are running error-free in our on-prem of cloud-based infrastructures
- Look beyond the day-to-day to find new ways we could implement things better -- whether it be faster, more reliable, or with higher quality
- Participate in a fast-paced environment where your input is valued and sought after -- contribute by recommending best practices and continuously driving forward technical innovation
Roles, responsibilities and duties may evolve and change over time.
WE ARE HOPING YOU HAVE
- 3+ years of experience with React Native and React
- Experience deploying hybrid applications to the Play Store and App Store
- Equally comfortable refactoring legacy code and writing new code from scratch
- Experience with Docker, containerization, and microservices
- You are familiar and experienced in Unit and Integration Testing
- Write clean, efficient and robust code that can handle heavy traffic
