Your Impact:
As a Field Operations Manager at Pearce, you will lead and support a distributed team of Field Managers, Field Engineers, and Schedulers to ensure the successful execution of OSP (Outside Plant) telecommunications network validation projects. Your leadership will drive the overall efficiency, accuracy, and quality of our field operations, ensuring project deadlines and customer expectations are met. You’ll play a vital role in analyzing field data, optimizing team performance, and improving processes to enhance service delivery and operational excellence.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage the Field Services department, including Field Managers, Engineers, and Schedulers
Monitor field labor costs, completion rates, on-time delivery, margins, and quality of deliverables
Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and address HR or performance-related issues
Hire, backfill, and onboard new team members as needed
Lead team meetings and hold team members accountable to performance metrics
Support strategic planning and innovation in operational processes
Perform root cause analyses to resolve operational inefficiencies
Coordinate scheduling support and respond to triage calls
Prepare and present reporting (e.g., Insite) and field operations analytics
Represent the customer’s interests by ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely deliverables
Maintain stakeholder communication and escalate risks to senior leadership as needed
Travel as needed (up to 10%) and perform field visits to validate operations when required
Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, and company safety standards
Maintain regular, punctual, and predictable attendance in support of team and project needs
Core Experience:
5+ years of management experience, ideally in fiber-optic or telecom industries
3+ years in OSP telecom, engineering, or construction-related environments
2+ years of client-facing experience with demonstrated leadership and communication skills
Proven experience leading geographically distributed teams and remote workers
Successful track record with operational process improvement, field reporting, and quality assurance
Prior experience with field scheduling, GIS systems, and working knowledge of OSP utilities and standards (e.g., RUS, NESC, GO95, NEC)
Location: Preferred East or Central time zone
Pay Range: Starting at $80,000 plus negotiable based on experience
