The Data Strategy & Insights team serves as an important partner between the business and technical teams to ensure the solutions we deliver – today and in the future – enhance patient experiences and improve efficiency.

The Associate Director, Data Strategy & Insights generates insights about OPH programs by demonstrating proficiency in data analysis, translation of requirements, critical thinking, and collaboration. The Associate Director works as a consultative partner who works with important partners within business and technical teams and to inform and implement business insights decisions. While focused on Patient Support CNS programs, you will expand scope to include additional departments pending bandwidth and interest.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Business Management and Critical Thinking
  • Translate data and insights into relevant business context by understanding the "why" behind the data for the business
  • Conduct leadership level presentations including strategic plans and important metrics
  • Guide, plan, prioritize activities and resources to maximize impact and measure progress against plan
  • Critical Thinking
  • Understand a situation and issue by breaking it into smaller components
  • Collect information, obtain inferences, find solutions and make informed decisions and recommendations using data and tools
  • Intervene with data sources to solve data problems
  • Ensure analysis, communication, and distribution of data analyses
  • Work with partners, including Business Analytics and Technology, to address understanding issues, dependencies, data issues.
  • Analytics Solutions
  • Understand our needs and help translate and prioritize these needs into requirements that support strategic goals; work with technical teams to translate our requirements into a solution (e.g., dashboard)
  • Manage feedback received from end-users and prioritize features for future releases
  • Identify appropriate metrics and tracking to measure execution and success; assist management in evaluating performance
  • Understand limitations in the data and work with important partners to address these gaps
  • Lead solution onboarding (e.g., training, documentation and communications) with end-users
  • Data and Analytics
  • Partner with data engineering to ensure data quality and appropriate data management capabilities are applied.
  • Support regular delivery of insights and reporting to patient support and channel strategy through appropriate products and services
  • Support OPH Total Product Lifecycle through in-depth understanding of requirements and priorities, and attending agile ceremonies/events.
  • Address and escalate risks & dependencies to Scrum Masters/Project Managers to ensure delivery timelines are tracked/met

  • Analyze onboarding of enhanced data sources to maintain optimization of data sources
  • Partner Development
  • Develop partnership with patient support, data/tech teams, and other important Otsuka partners, to ensure ongoing decision support needs are met with a focus on process improvement
  • Develop internal and external relationships based on partners needs
  • Additional Critical Skills
  • Experience with patient support data and data aggregation processes
  • High-level understanding of Compliance and data privacy regulations including HIPAA, CCPA & GDPR
  • Collaborate with Legal, Data & Privacy, IT, Information Security, Audit, Finance, and Data Governance teams to ensure approval of data and analytics programs within your scope
  • Identify best practices and share with relevant all partners

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited four-year college or university (or the equivalent if education is obtained outside of the United States
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience working in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA considerations)
  • Understand basic principles of pharmaceutical or healthcare data processing, data quality, data management, and data stewardship
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both 1:1 and within a team environment:
  • Work with others to organize qualitative data to identify/explain trends, problems, and their causes
  • Lead with empathy and assess multiple situations
  • Ability to articulate complex data problems in a way that non-technical people can understand
  • Work with people of all levels, both internally and externally
  • Collaborate as a team player and contribute individually to support key programs
  • Translate our needs into data, reporting, and system requirements:
  • Determine tasks and actions required to implement a specific business initiative
  • Work through changes, and shift priorities
  • Experience working in Agile method and optimizing teamwork to be more efficient
  • Understanding of risk management and assessing options to mitigate risks
  • Curiosity and ability to learn new ways of accomplishing strategic goals
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred

  • Experience with Patient Support & Specialty Pharmacy operations & data
  • Experience data visualization tools such as PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.

Minimum $160,530.00 - Maximum $240,005.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with states and local laws.
