United States onlyOrfium is seeking an experienced Assistant Global Controller to assist in our Global Finance Team. We are a rapidly scaling market leader in the music technology industry. This is a key hire for the company and will report to the Global Controller. Working remotely alongside teams based in Sri Lanka, Greece, US, UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Global Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports for global operations, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Consolidation: Support the consolidation of the financial data. Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and reports for senior management, shareholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and trend analysis, to identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and potential risks. Assist in providing financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Tax & Compliance: Assist in managing global tax compliance, including tax planning & forecasts, filings, and audits. Ensure compliance with international tax laws, transfer pricing regulations, and reporting requirements in collaboration with tax advisors. Prepare and maintain R&D Capitalization schedules for tax and US GAAP reporting
- Treasury Management: Support treasury operations, including cash management, foreign exchange risk management, and liquidity management. Assist in monitoring cash flows, processing AP, and consolidating international cash flow forecasts.
- Team Management and Development: Provide support and guidance to finance teams in different regions. May assist in recruiting, training, and developing staff to ensure a high level of performance and professionalism across the global finance function.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
- Controls & Policies: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Requirements
What you need to succeed in the role!
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA required)
- 6+ years of proven experience in accounting. Experience managing a team is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and tax legislation
- Extensive experience working in a rapidly scaling international and multi-entity tech environment
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with international tax
- Experience with general ledger functions, and the month-end and year end close process
- Advanced Excel modeling experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, and spend management and payment platforms (Sage Intacct, Brex, and Tipalti are preferred)
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
