OpenLoop was co-founded by CEO, Dr. Jon Lensing, and COO, Christian Williams, with the vision to bring care anywhere. Our telehealth support solutions are thoughtfully designed to streamline and simplify go-to-market care delivery for companies offering meaningful virtual support to patients across an expansive array of specialties, in all 50 states.

OpenLoop is looking for a Data Architect to join our Engineering – Platform team in Lima, Peru. This role owns the most foundational layer of our data ecosystem: the Snowflake platform that every team in the company depends on to make trusted, compliant, data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader with deep Snowflake expertise, strong AWS experience, and a track record of architecting data platforms from scratch in regulated environments. You won't be inheriting someone else's architecture — you'll be building the one OpenLoop runs on for years.

Responsibilities

  • Snowflake Platform Ownership Architects, builds, and owns OpenLoop's production Snowflake environment end-to-end — including multi-environment setups (dev/staging/prod), ingestion pipelines from AWS S3, scheduling, RBAC frameworks, and data masking policies. Ensures platform health through query performance optimization, warehouse cost management, and proactive monitoring as the environment scales.

  • Data Governance & Compliance Designs and implements data governance architectures that satisfy HIPAA and security review requirements, including dynamic data masking policies, row-level security, and role-based access control. Translates regulatory constraints into durable, auditable Snowflake governance controls.

  • Semantic & Dynamic View Layer Establishes a robust semantic and dynamic view layer that enables governed, self‑serve data access across engineering, BI, analytics, and data science teams. Ensures downstream consumers can trust and access the data they need with consistency.

  • AWS‑to‑Snowflake Ingestion Engineering Designs and maintains scalable ingestion systems using S3‑to‑Snowflake integration patterns with AWS services (EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Athena, Glue). Builds resilient pipelines with retry logic, rate‑limit management, and idempotent processing for external API enrichment workflows.

  • Technical Strategy & Standards Defines data architecture standards and best practices where none currently exist. Acts as the go-to Snowflake authority for Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders. Drives architectural decisions that balance consistency, performance, cost efficiency, and security.

  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partners closely with Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance, and SRE teams to ensure the data platform meets business requirements while maintaining strict security and performance standards. Communicates technical trade‑offs and architecture decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or equivalent platform ownership roles.

  • 3–4 years of hands‑on experience as a Snowflake Solutions Architect, Senior Data Engineer, or in a role with full Snowflake platform ownership.

  • Proven experience setting up Snowflake environments from scratch, including multi‑environment setups, Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, RBAC, and dynamic data masking in production.

  • Hands‑on AWS experience with S3‑to‑Snowflake integration patterns using EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Athena, and Glue.

  • Experience designing and implementing data governance architectures that meet compliance requirements (HIPAA or equivalent regulated environment).

  • Experience building scalable ingestion systems with external API dependencies, including handling throttling, partial failures, and replay mechanisms.

  • Strong communicator, able to influence architecture decisions across teams and explain complex data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Advanced English (C1), with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthtech, fintech, or other highly regulated industries (HIPAA, SOC 2).

  • Snowflake SnowPro Core or Advanced certification.

  • Experience with dbt, Snowpark, Python, or Airflow.

  • Experience with data streaming and near‑real‑time ingestion patterns (e.g., Kinesis, Snowpipe Streaming).

  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect).

Our Benefits

In addition to competitive salaries, this role includes:

  • Formal employment ("Planilla") under a Peruvian entity — all legal benefits in soles (CTS, Gratificaciones, etc.).

  • Full‑time schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm.

  • Unlimited vacation days — yes, we mean it!

  • EPS healthcare (Rimac) covered 100%.

  • Oncology insurance (Rimac) covered 100%.

  • AFP retirement plan.

  • Coworking access in Miraflores, Lima — with free beverages, talks, bicycle parking, and amazing city views.

  • Company laptop and tools provided.

This position is also open for candidates with some kind of disabilities that are part of the CONADIS list. The coworking is adequate for people with special mobility needs.
