Intelligence Systems - Technical Staff

OpenAI seeks a technical builder and operator to extend Intelligence & Investigations capabilities into external-facing environments. The role requires strong technical fluency, experience operating at the intersection of technical development and real users, and ability to navigate ambiguity and execute. The ideal candidate is highly technical, a clear and effective communicator, and committed to the responsible use of AI.

Requirements

• Strong technical fluency with a track record of building or deploying data-intensive systems or workflows
• Experience operating at the intersection of technical development and real users, including product shaping or partner-facing work
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and execute, moving from early-stage concepts to production-ready solutions
• Skill in translating complex technical capabilities into practical, usable tools or services
• Strong product judgment, including identifying what should scale vs. remain bespoke
• Clear and effective communicator across both technical teams and external stakeholders
• Experience in relevant domains such as intelligence, security, trust & safety, data analysis, or public sector technology
• Proficiency with modern technical tooling, including data analysis (e.g., SQL, Python) and AI-enabled workflows
• Proven cross-functional operator, able to drive alignment and execution across teams
• Commitment to the responsible use of AI and applying technology to meaningful real-world problems
