Founding Data Scientist

We’re looking for a Founding Data Scientist to shape the future of Opal’s data strategy.

We’re entering a phase where data will shape every part of our product, growth, and strategy. As our first data hire, you’ll build the stack, run the analyses, and empower every function to make smarter decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Set up our core analytics stack (dbt, Snowflake, Metabase, etc.)

• Define key metrics and build dashboards used across the company

• Analyze product usage, growth loops, and marketing performance

• Design experiments and interpret results

• Be a strategic partner to Product, Marketing, CX, and the CEO

What You’ll Be Doing

What You Bring

• Fluency in SQL, Python, and modern data tools

• Experience in consumer tech (ideally mobile)

• Comfort in ambiguous, 0→1 environments

• Strong product sense and storytelling ability

• Passion for focus, productivity, or digital wellbeing
