One Vision

One Vision is a prominent human services organization that specializes in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Incorporated in 1966, One Vision, originally known as Handicap Village and later as Opportunity Village, has played a crucial role in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities for several decades. The organization first opened its doors in 1971, starting with a campus of ten cottages designed to provide support for 160 people with disabilities in Clear Lake, Iowa. The commitment to this mission has expanded significantly over the years.

Today, One Vision serves more than 300 individuals across 20 communities in northern Iowa and stands as the region's largest nonprofit employer. With a focus on independence and inclusion, One Vision's mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to pursue their best lives. This includes assisting them in obtaining viable employment opportunities, securing suitable housing, and fostering their personal interests. The organization offers a diverse range of services tailored to meet individual needs and life goals, including Supported Community Living, Home and Community Based Services, and Job Coaching. Through its robust community engagement and ongoing events like the OV Day of Giving and various fundraisers, One Vision continues to champion the values of philanthropy and support for individuals with disabilities.
