OCELL is a Munich-based climate-tech startup that unlocks the full potential of European forests through innovative and data-driven solutions. Founded in 2019 by David Dohmen, Christian Decher, and Felix Horvat, OCELL specializes in offering high-quality carbon credits that support local landowners in improving forest management practices. By utilizing aerial photography, artificial intelligence, and various data sources, the startup creates ‘digital twins’ of forests, which provides valuable insights into forest growth, carbon storage capacity, and management strategies.

The technology developed by OCELL enables the transformation of timber-driven monocultures into climate-friendly mixed forests, crucial for combating climate change. Over 700,000 hectares of forest area have been managed using their innovative software, Dynamic Forest.
