Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) is seeking a full-time experienced accounting manager.

Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) was established in 2003 and provides consulting and technical services to the U.S. government, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and the private sector. We specialize in scientific program and project management, strategic planning, professional and technical services, and stakeholder engagement. We are a Women-Owned Small Business.

The Accounting Manager will conduct both accounting and finance related tasks. This person will be primarily responsible for preparing monthly cash flow reports, preparing monthly filings, maintaining accurate financial documents, creating financial statements, presenting financial information regularly to leadership, assisting with payroll and providing customer service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements including income statements and balance sheets in accordance with GAAP

  • Schedule payment of all cash disbursements

  • Maintain a fixed asset schedule

  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly filings/payments to select agencies (including GSA)

  • Prepare all documents and work papers for completion of the corporate tax returns

  • Prepare monthly cashflow reports

  • Present financial information regularly to leadership

  • Engage with the OAI team

  • Interact with customers

  • Use Unanet and Quickbooks to perform the functions noted above

Additional Responsibilities:

  • File state registrations and maintain compliance with state licenses

  • Establish new states of operation for payroll

  • Provide financial analysis and revenue projections to aid in the assessment of goals and benchmarks

  • Prepare data to assist in the development of contract bids

  • Manage audits for finance, workers compensation, and 401k

Start date: Immediately

Location: Full-time remote

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time salaried position with excellent benefits. Annual salary: ranges from $70,000-$120,000.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 3+ years of experience

  • Experience handling financials as a government contractor

  • Experience with invoicing

  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online

  • Familiarity with Unanet (or other project management software)

  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and Google Workspace apps

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Familiarity and comfort in working in a remote environment

  • Ability to work effectively both individually and collaboratively

  • Ability to work well with a variety of personalities

  • Desire and ability to work as an integral part of a small team

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Active CPA license

  • Experience working as a vendor supporting a federal government agency

  • Experience working specifically with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), particularly NOAA Fisheries and NOAA’s National Ocean Service.

  • Detailed experience with Unanet and its T&E and Invoicing modules

  • Experience with the government’s Invoice Processing Platform (IPP)
