Sr. Service Designer

How You’ll Help Us:

As a Senior Service Designer, you will become part of our growing Experience Design practice, helping Launch by NTT DATA create best-in-class customer, employee and user experiences.

You will support initiatives, small and large, defining cross-channel experience strategies and user experience designs that embrace the intersection of people, process, business and technology.

You’ll ensure customer, end user, and employee needs translate into the design decisions you make in the digital service experiences that Launch by NTT DATA creates.

You’ll do this with other designers, strategists, user researchers, product designers, UI developers and analytics peers, all who believe the best work comes from collaboration, is driven by strategy, and is always ethically-minded.

Our employee culture is built on learning and growth, transparency, and empathy. We hope you’ll join us to help shape it more.

Why The Role Is Important:

Our Designers and Researchers are fundamental to ensuring the digital technology and related services that Launch by NTT DATA builds for our clients are valuable, intuitive and impactful. Through the work of Designers and Researchers, we’ve observed doctors to understand how voice-based support can help them be more efficient and focus on their patients, we’ve interviewed bank employees and customers to define what the ideal “bank of the future” should be, and we’ve done ride-alongs with truckers to understand their jobs and define how a mobile app will help them manage inventory and service customers better. Then our Designers map the ideal versions or enhancements to these experiences from initial concepts through final strategy, blueprints, roadmap and implementation.

Once You Are Here, You Will:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative customer research to inform design decisions

  • Develop meaningful profiles and personas

  • Create user flows, use case diagrams and scenarios to illustrate how users will interact with a system or experience

  • Map current and future omni-channel customer journeys to help establish what good looks like

  • Document user experience requirements and user needs to inform decisions, workflows and functionality

  • Where applicable create wireframes or prototypes to illustrate optimal interactions and priorities based on user needs and tasks

  • Design meaningful brand experiences across a wide range of channels and platforms.

  • Transform business needs and user insights into smart, innovative concepts.

  • Understand customer goals, business requirements, technical constraints, and be able to work within project parameters.

  • Collaborate with strategy leads, SMEs, business stakeholders, developers, and other groups on ensuring final service concepts comply with UX best practices and user needs.

Preferred:

  • Strong portfolio of research, experience design, or service design, including:

  • User research, findings and recommendations

  • Personas and journey maps

  • Case studies describing UX methodology

  • Service blueprints or other similar service maps

  • Ability to demonstrate your process, present your work, and articulate your design decisions to stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with cross-functional partners to identify a UX strategy

  • Experience conducting usability testing, 1:1 user interviews, ride-alongs or other user research and analyzing the data to identify UX recommendations

  • Experience independently driving the UX review cycle and closing on experience requirements

  • Experience with accessible design

  • Familiarity with common design and collaboration tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, Axure, Miro, etc.

  • Experience leading a team of UX designers and ensuring final assets comply with UX best practices and meet user and business needs.

  • Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in User Experience, Experience Design, Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, Communications, other relevant degree or equivalent professional experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of work experience as a UX or Service Designer

  • Portfolio demonstrating examples of work in UX, research, service design

  • Fluent in Spanish

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate well in English

Ideal Mindset:

  • Human-centered: You understand human-centered design philosophy and best practices

  • A Practical Creative: You enjoy solving complex problems creatively but you are practical in your solutions, realizing the many constraints that may impede the “ideal”

  • Flexible Work Style: You work equally well in a participatory, team-based environment as well as needing to work autonomously

Location:

Flexible/remote; client travel expected to be 20% (under normal operating conditions post-COVID)
