The Copywriting Specialist is integral in building creative marketing campaigns for our university partners. Reporting to the Editor within the Content team, this position is a cross-functional, collaborative role responsible for executing creative briefs while employing various brand identities. Successful candidates are self-starters who employ an entrepreneurial attitude to achieve their goals. They should possess a strong performance track record—and a desire to learn and grow a strategic mindset and an adept skill set.

As our Specialist, Copywriting, you will:

  • Develop student-facing copy for marketing collateral including, but not limited to, partner microsites, landing pages, paid ad creative, email, and video scripts
  • Proof-read partner-facing materials and presentations
  • Ensure that all marketing materials are well-written, compelling, conform to partner editorial style, and contain accurate information from reliable sources
  • Become an expert in each partner's target audience and how to excite and engage those audiences
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and university partners to complete deliverables to needed specifications and timelines
  • Work closely with a content editor to create best-in-class marketing materials for high-profile universities
  • Help the Content team update and maintain a bank of trustworthy, data-backed internal and external resources
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You are:

  • Comfortable adapting to written tone and voice requirements and accepting granular internal and external feedback
  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment
  • Adept at digesting large amounts of information quickly and identifying the most salient and compelling points to promote
  • Skilled at researching employment and salary information
  • Familiar with AP and Chicago Manual of Style editorial guidelines
  • Thoughtful, detail-oriented, and willing to ask questions
  • Ready to learn and grow in this role

You have:

  • 3-5 years of relevant previous experience—agency or higher ed experience preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or marketing or equivalent certifications/experience
  • An online portfolio or examples of past work
  • Experience writing search-optimized content that speaks to audience intent
  • A strong working knowledge of G Suite applications (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
