Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack (with a focus on Front End)

The Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Seller team. Working closely with Product partners and Engineering management, you will build technical solutions enhancing our on-platform experiences, helping the business acquire and activate high value customers. You will also work closely with Marketing and other business stakeholders to help build seamless and engaging customer journeys that optimize our marketing effectiveness.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be an active hands-on contributor as well as an influencer for our technical direction. You will be able to contribute to various initiatives as well as provide feedback through code reviews and pairing. Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality, performant, and testable code that directly contributes to company-wide initiatives
• Lead the product development process, from ideation to implementation to release. Rapidly prototype, run A/B tests, architect and build solutions that can scale to support millions of users
• Develop using interesting technologies -- Elixir, Ruby, React, Typescript, GraphQL, Kafka, AWS/Lambda, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB
• Have input into design and architectural decisions that will shape the future of our software systems
• Mentor, actively participate in code reviews, and pair up with a team member to work together on features
• Act as a strong partner to product and engineering management

Minimum Requirements:

• 7+ years of web application development experience with a track record of successfully shipping consumer or business facing products
• Experience in writing reliable and maintainable code, reusable components and component libraries that may be used by many other engineers
• Experience with any of Elixir, Erlang, Ruby, Javascript, NextJs, or another programming language
• Passionate about testing practices and continuous improvement
• Familiarity with common programming tools such as IDEs, RESTful APIs, Git repositories, TypeScript, version control software, and remote deployment tools
• Familiarity with event based architectures, database fundamentals and GraphQL
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
• Curiosity about retail/e-commerce, the high-end consignment market, and/or how to create a sustainable, circular economy for luxury goods

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and React
• Experience with GraphQL
• Experience building microservices
• Experience building eCommerce platforms
• Experience working with a CMS, especially Prismic
• Any experience with mobile development for iOS and/or Android
