About Nicklaus Children's Health System
At Nicklaus Children's Health System, we are proud to be the region's only healthcare system exclusively dedicated to the health and well-being of children. Since our founding in 1950 as Variety Children's Hospital, we have evolved into a world-class leader in pediatric care, driven by our unwavering mission to inspire hope and promote lifelong health by providing the best care to every child. We are South Florida's only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children, home to approximately 800 attending physicians and more than 500 pediatric subspecialists who are committed to clinical excellence.
Our 309-bed flagship facility, known as Miami Children's Hospital from 1983 through 2014, is renowned for its comprehensive pediatric services. We are honored that many of our specialty programs are routinely ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Beyond our main hospital campus, our extensive network includes outpatient and urgent care centers situated across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Martin counties, ensuring that high-quality care is accessible to families throughout the region.
We believe in a future where every child matters most. Our health system also encompasses the Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, our fundraising arm; Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists, our nonprofit physician practice subsidiary; and an ambulatory surgery center. We are also at the forefront of innovation, utilizing state-of-the-art technology like our Advanced Pediatric Care Pavilion and our telehealth services to provide accessible, patient-centered care. Our commitment extends beyond medical treatment; we strive to create a supportive, compassionate environment where children can thrive and families can find peace of mind.
