Job Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Navitus, the VP, Operationsis responsible for providing leadership for Navitus by working with the SVP/COO and the Navitus Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to establish and execute on long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies for the Navitus business. Determines the strategic operational plans for Navitus through involvement on the SLT; develops overall goals and policies for the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) business, and responsible for operationalizing these goals and policies. Responsible for Operational Excellence with oversight of, and development and monitoring of Navitus key performance indicators to meet organizational financial and service goals. May represent the organization to the public, potential clients, and vendors.
The VP, Operations will supervise Directors of operational and clinical adjudication processes areas. The VP, Operations will ensure that the operation is in compliance with all operational agreements with payers, Pharma, requirements of all applicable Accreditation Organizations, and Navitus. The individual in this position will provide direction through productivity and budget impact analysis. The individual will assist in Navitus’ proposal strategies to meet Navitus (PBM) sales and growth needs, and performance guarantees; and continue to meet or exceed all requirements to maintain full URAC, ACHC and other accreditation statuses.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes credibility throughout the organization and with the SLT as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Provides leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of Navitus are put into practice. Responsible for contributing to company achievement of sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives through operational excellence.
- Co-develops and drives the communication and implementation of effective organizational and operational strategies and processes with Navitus cross-functional leadership.
- Collaborates with the SVP/COO to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company.
- Motivates and leads a high-performance team; directs the attraction and recruitment of resources and retains valued resources; provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program. Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
- Represents the Navitus organization with clients and business partners.
- Be an advisor from a leadership perspective on any operational contracts into which Navitus may enter.
- Evaluation of the company structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) for individuals.
- Responsibilities include mentoring and developing employees, interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of Navitus adjudication operations, and accreditation of Navitus through URAC and ACHC.
- Lead the development and creation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts related Navitus Operations, designing process improvement wherever possible to improve efficiencies.
- Participates as an active member on the Operating Committee (OC).
- Performs other related duties as required.
Essential Background Requirements:
- Education: Undergraduate degree. Master’s degree (MBA) or equivalent; or 7 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience:
- Experienced leader and organizational executive with appropriate industry or related experience, preferably in the Health Plan, Specialty Pharmacy or Pharmacy Benefit Management field.
