Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join our IT Development department!
The Software Engineer position ensures efforts are in alignment with the Information Technology team, to support customer-focused objectives and the IT Vision, a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions, and services to simplify people's lives. They will serve in a more seasoned capacity, within the team and will collaborate with the business teams to prototype new technologies and recommend solutions. This role will be involved with research, design, development, testing and documentation of projects. They will be encouraged to continually look for creative ways to stretch the boundaries and challenge the norms. This position will take an open-minded approach to technology and embrace the culture of Innovation at Navitus. As a Software Engineer, having a creative vision & continually thinking of the many ways a problem can be solved, is a must.
The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in database technologies, specifically in Oracle. The candidate's primary responsibilities will center on Data modeling, writing SQL and PL/SQL, as well as optimizing performance through effective tuning . In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong communication and leadership skills to facilitate team collaboration.

Responsibilities
How do I make an impact on my team?
- Design, Develop, and Maintain Oracle database applications using PL/SQL and other technologies
- Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code to support business requirements and changing business needs.
- Perform database Tuning and optimization to ensure high performance and reliability
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues independently or in group collaboration
- Ensure Data integrity and security through best practices and compliance with standards.
- Participate in code review and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and development guidelines
- Assist Business units with designing and delivering quality solutions based on end user feedback and iterative design practices.
- Continuing learning with database technologies including SQL Server and Oracle, and sharing amongst the team.
- Leading Agile development methodology sessions and ensuring team delivers quality solutions that meeting shifting business needs.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline structures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What our team expects from you?
- College degree (2- or 4-year program) typically in the field of computer science, information systems or software engineering
- Must have 6+ years of professional development experience
- Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices including object-oriented programming
- Expertise in large and complex SQL query development, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle development tools as well as a great understating of DB Objects and Data Compression Features.
- Expertise with performance tuning and optimization technologies
- Experience with data modeling and database design principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbally
- Ability to interview end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues
- Documented experience developing test cases and test plans
- Demonstrated understanding of Software Development Life Cycle as well as DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Healthcare industry practices and HIPAA knowledge would be a plus
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
- The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
