Role Summary
The Manager of Training and Development plays a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize financial wellness through exceptional coaching. This position designs and implements comprehensive training strategies that transform financial coaches into trusted guides who deliver life-changing outcomes through behavioral change. By creating rigorous onboarding programs, ongoing skill development opportunities, and measurement frameworks, this leader ensures every member interaction delivers both immediate value and long-term transformation. Their work directly impacts sponsor ROI by producing consistently excellent coaching experiences that drive measurable improvements in financial wellness, retirement readiness, and participant engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Training Design - Create and maintain comprehensive training curricula that align with our coaching methodologies, ensuring new coaches develop both financial acumen and interpersonal effectiveness. Delivers training for both new hires, and tenured coaches, and trainers.
- Performance Excellence - Establish clear coaching readiness standards and develop measurement systems that identify coaching strengths and improvement opportunities across the team. Implement robust quality assurance processes including session reviews, member feedback analysis, and outcome measurement to ensure consistent coaching excellence. Support Compliance and Certification requirements of coaching staff.
- Continuous Development - Design ongoing professional development pathways that keep coaches at the forefront of financial wellness practices and behavioral change methodologies.
- Technology Integration - Partner with product and technology teams to maximize coach utilization of digital tools that enhance member experience and outcomes tracking.
- Content Development - Collaborate with education and marketing teams to create coaching resources that drive member engagement and translate complex financial concepts into actionable guidance.
- Member Transformation - Drive measurable improvements in member financial well-being, resulting in reduced financial stress, increased retirement readiness, improved financial behaviors, and stronger engagement with sponsor benefits.
- Coaching Excellence - Consistently deliver high-quality coaching sessions, estimated to be 10 - 20% of the time, that receive exceptional member satisfaction ratings while maintaining efficient resource utilization

Qualifications & Experience
- Academic Foundation - Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Psychology, Finance, or related field; Master's preferred.
- Training Experience - 5+ years developing and implementing training programs, preferably in financial services or coaching environments.
- Performance Management - Demonstrated experience establishing quality standards and measuring performance outcomes.
- Financial Knowledge - Strong understanding of personal finance principles and coaching methodologies.
- Coaching Background - Demonstrated success in coaching or advisory roles with proven ability to drive behavioral change and measurable outcomes.
- AFC, CFP, ChFC certifications (preferred)
- Previous military experience or experience supporting military service members (preferred)
Working Context
- Full-time role with remote and hybrid work arrangements. Position requires proficiency with learning management systems, performance tracking tools, and collaboration platforms.
