Department Overview
Motorola’s Software Enterprise organization is a fast-paced organization at the front line of driving growth throughout Motorola Solutions. The Response and Reporting Software team is building public safety solutions that bring the capabilities of the suite together into a single, user-centered workflow and help public safety manage data across their operation.
Job Description
This role will be responsible for filling the agile product owner role for the PremierOne CAD Forward Deployed Engineering Team. They use their technical knowledge and Public Safety background to engage with Forward Deployed Engineering teams, review defect backlog, reproduce and weed out non defects, work with engineering to understand code improvements and the priority of assigned team backlogs.
Responsibilities :
Involved in troubleshooting and defect refinement
Has the primary responsibility for building, editing, and maintaining the defect backlog, including finding non product code solutions.
Reviews and prioritizes the backlog as part of the prep work for release and sprint planning, including coordination of dependencies with other POs.
Collaborate with customers to understand systemic issues and refines defects to have broad, high impact solutions
Agree on accepted story completion, including validating that the story meets acceptance criteria and that it complies with its Definition of Done (DoD).
Collaborate with their team and any other stakeholders in the team demo.
Participate in the appropriate agile ceremonies.
Qualifications:
5+ years of professional Public Safety Dispatch experience
5+ years of Public Safety technology setup and troubleshooting - preferred
Agile/Scrum experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are a necessity
Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences
Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems
Capable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing new projects alongside customer feedback
Strong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into a format that can be understood by developers as well as non-technical staff
Ability to research and analyze project requirements from various stakeholders
Build consensus among stakeholders
Ability to work well independently and as part of a diverse team spread across multiple continents in a fast-moving environment
Ability to multi-task among various assignments
Understanding of product management and product ownership principles
Annual salary range - $86,500 - $173,000
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
Basic Requirements
5+ years of professional experience with Public Safety applications
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
