The MNTN Targeting Group helps brands reach the right customers with software that turns petabytes of data into meaningful audience targeting strategies. Our engineers, data scientists and analysts build software that serves content to millions of people every day. You'll be joining the team working on MNTN Matched, our flagship machine learning product that is a critical revenue driver for the business.As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will focus on operationalizing machine learning models by taking ownership of prototypes built by data scientists and turning them into robust, scalable production systems. You will lead the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of ML solutions that power audience matching at scale. This role emphasizes strong software engineering practices, designing for reliability and performance, and working with large-scale data pipelines and infrastructure. You’ll collaborate across functions to ensure models are not just accurate but production-ready, scalable, and cost-effective.What You’ll Do:- Own the full lifecycle of machine learning models in production, from POC handoff through deployment, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Build scalable data pipelines and production-grade ML services using best practices in software engineering.
- Partner with data scientists to translate research prototypes into performant, maintainable code ready for production environments.
- Optimize ML model inference and training pipelines to handle petabyte-scale datasets efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure robust deployment, observability, and incident response strategies.
- Proactively identify system and model failure points, implement logging and alerting, and drive resolution of incidents.
- Lead technical design reviews and contribute to the evolution of ML architecture and tooling across the organization.
- 5+ years of experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production, with a deep understanding of operational requirements.
- Strong software engineering skills and experience building distributed systems, APIs, and backend services (Python, Java, Scala, or similar).
- Experience working with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Expertise in machine learning lifecycle tools (MLflow, TFX, SageMaker, etc.) and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Solid foundation in SQL and data manipulation with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
