The journey began in 1995 with the founding of Community Psychiatry in Sacramento, California, by Dr. Mark Levine. For nearly two decades, Community Psychiatry steadily grew, establishing 44 locations throughout California and becoming an early adopter of telehealth services in the state. This foundation was built on a clinician-led model, prioritizing high-quality, accessible outpatient mental health services. A pivotal moment in the company's evolution came in May 2021, with the acquisition of MindPath Care Centers, a prominent behavioral health provider based in North Carolina. Following this transformative merger, the unified organization rebranded as Mindpath Health in November 2021, a name chosen to reflect its broader national ambitions and its comprehensive approach to guiding individuals on their unique mental health journeys. Under this new banner, the company has continued its expansion, not just through organic growth but also through further strategic acquisitions, such as Psychiatric Centers at San Diego and Metropolitan Neuro Behavioral Institute in Arizona. This has allowed Mindpath Health to extend its reach into states like Texas, Florida, and Arizona, solidifying its position as a leading independent provider of outpatient mental health services in the United States. Today, led by CEO Stephen Farber, Mindpath Health operates over 100 locations across multiple states, with a dedicated team of over 1,200 employees, including a significant number of clinicians.
