The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. They play a critical role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, ensuring technical requirements are met, and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders. The Technical Project Manager must have a strong technical background and excellent project management skills to drive projects to completion while maintaining high quality and meeting client expectations. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Initiation:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and task dependencies.

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  1. Team Coordination and Communication:

  • Assemble and lead cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders.

  • Clearly communicate project goals, requirements, and timelines to team members.

  • Foster a collaborative environment to encourage effective communication and knowledge sharing.

  1. Project Execution and Monitoring:

  • Track project progress, identify deviations from plans, and take corrective actions as necessary.

  • Ensure adherence to project milestones, deadlines, and quality standards.

  • Manage project resources, including budget, time, and team capacity.

  1. Technical Oversight:

  • Work closely with technical leads and developers to ensure the project's technical requirements are met.

  • Provide guidance on technical solutions, architecture, and best practices.

  • Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards and quality assurance processes are followed.

  1. Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.

  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders.

  • Manage expectations and address concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.

  1. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and project management methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proven experience as a software project manager, preferably with a technical background.

  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and project management principles.

  • Proficiency in project management tools, collaboration software, and version control systems.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in software development or software engineering is highly desirable.

The base salary range for this position in the United States is $81,000 to $100,000. In addition to base pay, the total compensation package may also include commission, performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
