The Role
As a Process and Documentation Intern, you will be working with and learning alongside subject matter experts in the health IT industry. Intern positions are learning positions and are essential to the team at our growing, fast-paced health IT non-profit.
Position: Process Improvement/Documentation Intern
Duration: August 11, 2025 – May , 2025
Part time, working 15 – 29 hours/week
Location: Remote, based in Michigan (Eastern Time Zone)
Wage: $14/hour

Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student at a college or university
- Required 15-29 hours/week within office hours (Eastern Time Zone)
- Internships are a minimum 2 semester commitment
- Be at least 18 years of age at the program’s start date
- Be legally eligible to work in the US and off-campus and pass a criminal background check
- Have reliable internet access
- Adhere to any other Interoperability Institute employment policies, as appropriate
Responsibilities
- Assist with the review, updating, maintenance of existing documentation.
- Draft new documentation.
- Assist with the continuous development and improvement of processes to maintain consistency in documentation
- Provide information and support on documentation processes to staff requesting assistance.
- Handle day to day ticket requests in Jira
- Update documentation repositories in Confluence
