Proposal Specialist - Texas
DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking to fill this fully remote (with the option to work in office) proposal specialist position with an energetic leader to work collaboratively with capture teams to prepare winning proposals and presentations within Texas and the larger Southern Region (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas). The Proposal Specialist leads the development of high-quality, compliant, and strategic proposals within the company’s best practices framework.
The ideal candidate has previous AEC proposal experience with clients throughout Texas, is creative and organized, and possesses project management, writing, editing, and page layout skills. He/she is skilled in working with a team to formulate a pursuit’s strategic messaging. A successful Proposal Specialist has leadership qualities and demonstrates a collaborative mindset, superior communication skills, problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and transparency. He/she is a strategic thinker and pushes the status quo for continuous improvement.
They will manage proposal development efforts with responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Facilitate kick-off meetings with capture teams to define proposal expectations.
- Identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop and manage adherence to the proposal schedule.
- Facilitate strategy discussion and collaborate with the capture team to develop strategy and win themes.
- Schedule and facilitate proposal review meetings.
- Develop page layout and manage proposal documents.
- Lead the capture team in the development of visual and written content for proposals; draft and/or edit proposal narrative as necessary.
- Communicate and coordinate proposal status with the capture team throughout the proposal development process.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the planning, preparation, and development of AEC proposals and presentations.
- Strong project management, interpersonal communication, and time management skills to prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines.
- Ability to focus on details and on the big picture.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and document organization skills.
- Familiarity with regional and local proposal submission requirements in Texas and the broader southern U.S. states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas).
- Experience with Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with proposal database software Deltek Vision is preferred, but not required.
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
