The purpose of this role is to oversee and ensure the protection, compliance, and integrity of all information assets within METRO AG. This includes developing and implementing robust information security measures to mitigate risks, safeguard sensitive information, and uphold regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role collaborates closely with the global Data Privacy Team to implement technical measures for safeguarding personal information and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Your tasks:

  • Develop and maintain technical information security guidelines and supportive documents aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Communicate changes regarding technical information security guidelines to the global Data Privacy Team and ensure alignment.
  • Align state-of-the-art solutions/measures with Information Security and global Data Privacy Teams, covering areas such as Application Security, Technical & Operational Measures, Cloud Security, and Security Automation.
  • Provide support in understanding and developing system requirements and technical solutions for cybersecurity engineering based on system architectures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain robust security measures, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring systems.
  • Select and implement the latest technologies, with a focus on Security Automation, and lead the automation, integration, and orchestration of security-related activities and procedures.
  • Work closely with business partners and the Security Operations team to ensure compatibility of processes and systems within the security architecture.

Your Impact:

The role plays a pivotal role in translating data privacy and security requirements into technical measures that can be implemented by software engineering and infrastructure teams across METRO AG. Acting as the technical interface between Data Protection Officers and local IT teams, this role ensures that regulations and processes are effectively translated into technical measures.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A degree related to information security, cybersecurity, or a relevant field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in information security and cybersecurity is essential.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated deep knowledge of technical information security measures, including Application Security, Cloud Security, and Security Automation. Proficiency in implementing encryption, access controls, and monitoring systems is required.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Experience in aligning technical measures with regulatory requirements, especially in the context of data protection regulations such as GDPR.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT teams, Security Operations, and Data Privacy Teams.
  • Innovative Mindset: Proven ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in information security and cybersecurity.
