SUMMARY OF POSITION

Manage all financial activities for acquired companies to provide financial information needed for accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting, tax, treasury, and audit functions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•Understand the current financial system and process of the acquired company and quickly create and implement processes that enable accurate and timely financial reporting while minimizing the impact to acquired employees and owners.

•Implement accrual-based accounting processes as part of a month end closing process including the creation of accruals supported with the relevant and accurate estimates and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principal of the United States of America

•Oversee the acquired company’s invoicing, accounts receivable collections, accounts payable processing and payments, cash and bank functions including bank and GL account reconciliations, product and job costing, fixed asset reporting and financial reporting and analysis.

•Work with Meteor shared service leaders to implement Meteor processes that provide value, streamline processes, reduce costs, improve employee experience and internal controls of the acquired company

•Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial reporting including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, weekly backlog revenue and margins, annual audit and budgets.

•Ensure federal and state tax compliance

•Establish and maintain existing ERP system controls and processes, determine if its beneficial to integrate into Meteor’s ERP and CRM software and if beneficial, assist in the ERP implementation

•Oversee the compensation plans of the acquired company and review calculations, payments and plan modifications if needed

•Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies & procedures

•Provide financial analysis and information to CFO and Corporate Controller as requested

•Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compilation of data for special reports

•Comply and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

•At least 5 years’ experience in Accounting, plus if previous involvement in acquisitions and cash to accrual accounting

•Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge

•Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), ability to work well with systems

•Leadership experience

•Excellent time management skills

•Strong customer service focus

•Excellent attention to detail

•Strong written and oral communication skills

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

NOTE: All Meteor new hires are expected to attend an in-person cultural orientation which requires travel to our home office in Gainesville, FL. Employees may also be required to travel and attend annual company meetings and events. All business-related travel expenses will be paid for by Meteor per our company travel and expense policy.
