The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex, strategic implementations of Maxio products for strategic customers. This role owns end-to-end project execution for engagements often lasting 6+ months, ensuring alignment between customer expectations, contractual commitments, and internal delivery teams.

The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for project outcomes, coordinating matrixed teams across Professional Services, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and external implementation partners. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and risk management skills, as well as the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environments. In addition to delivery excellence, the role contributes to the evolution of Maxio’s PMO through process improvement and mentorship.

Essential Duties:

  • Own the project-level relationship between Maxio and strategic customers from kickoff through go-live and stabilization
  • Lead complex software implementations, frequently spanning six months or longer, across multiple workstreams
  • Identify key customer and internal stakeholders and define governance models and escalation paths
  • Define and manage project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with customer agreements
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed, integrated project plans across internal teams and external partners
  • Coordinate and lead matrixed project teams, including internal resources and third-party vendors or implementation partners
  • Monitor project progress, dependencies, risks, and issues, proactively driving mitigation and resolution
  • Provide clear, executive-level status reporting on project health, risks, KPIs, and financials
  • Define and execute communication plans tailored to enterprise stakeholders and leadership audiences
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to track and communicate development work tied to customer commitments
  • Monitor customer enablement and adoption activities to support long-term success post-implementation
  • Forecast and manage project resource needs, escalating constraints and risks as needed
  • Communicate blocking issues and critical decisions to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Lead internal, partner, and customer-facing meetings, including steering committees and executive reviews
  • Facilitate alignment sessions to manage scope changes, scheduling challenges, and escalations
  • Contribute to PMO best practices, templates, and continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and support junior project managers as needed

  • Enterprise & Strategic Delivery Expertise: Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex SaaS implementations with multiple stakeholders
  • Matrixed Team Leadership: Ability to influence and lead teams without direct authority across functions and partner organizations
  • Project Management Methodologies: Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models
  • Risk & Issue Management: Skilled in identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risks and dependencies
  • Executive Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical and project information clearly to executive and non-technical audiences
  • Situational Adaptability: Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and adjusting approach as priorities evolve
  • Decision Making: Demonstrates sound judgment and accountability in high-impact situations
  • Collaboration & Influence: Builds strong relationships across teams and drives alignment toward shared outcomes
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Actively seeks opportunities to improve delivery processes and PMO maturity
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Supports team development through guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing the implementation and deployment of enterprise software solutions for external clients
  • Demonstrated success delivering long-running implementations (6+ months)
  • Experience leading matrixed teams across internal functions and external partners
  • Strong SaaS industry experience; high-growth or startup SaaS experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification preferred but not required
