Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Ceph Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in Ceph storage solutions, with a strong background in Red Hat, Openshift, and related tools. As a Ceph Expert, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our storage infrastructure to meet the growing demands of our business.
Responsibilities:
Ceph Implementation and Maintenance:
Design, deploy, and maintain Ceph storage clusters to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Monitor and troubleshoot Ceph-related issues, providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.
Integration with Red Hat and Openshift:
Collaborate with teams to integrate Ceph seamlessly with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Openshift environments.
Ensure compatibility and performance optimization between Ceph, Red Hat, and Openshift components.
Upgrading hardware such as Dell/SMC/HPE and expanding storage
Performance Optimization:
Conduct performance analysis and implement enhancements to optimize storage efficiency and responsiveness.
Work on capacity planning and scaling strategies to accommodate future growth.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data stored in Ceph clusters.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices related to storage solutions.
Collaboration and Documentation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide storage solutions that align with organizational goals.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Ceph Expert with a track record of successful Ceph cluster implementations.
In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Openshift.
Proficiency in related tools and technologies such as RADOS, CephFS, and RBD.
Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible) for efficient management of storage infrastructure.
Experience with storage virtualization and containerized environments is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
iSCSI experience highly desirable
Comfortable with CRUSH map and OSD config management
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Ceph Administrator, or Openshift Certified Administrator are highly desirable.
